PLEXUS MA205HV

Main features

  • Non-Conductive Electronic Structural Bonding
  • 3-5 Minute Work Time
  • 15.9 MPa Aluminum Lap Shear

Product Description

Plexus MA205HV is a non-conductive two-part 10:1 methacrylate structural adhesive for electronic assemblies, metals, engineered thermoplastics and composites. At 23.9 deg C, typical work time is 3-5 minutes, and the adhesive reaches 50 psi handling strength in about 7-8 minutes on polycarbonate. The thixotropic system fills gaps from 0.75 to 6.4 mm. After cure, typical tensile strength is 13.7-16.7 MPa, elongation at break is 15-30%, and aluminum lap-shear strength is 15.9 MPa. Primerless metal bonding is supported for manufacturer-listed substrates.

Key features

  • Non-conductive structural bonding: The adhesive is positioned for structural electronic assemblies as well as supported metals, thermoplastics and composites.
  • 3-5 minute work time: Typical work time is 3-5 minutes at 23.9 deg C, with 50 psi handling strength in about 7-8 minutes on polycarbonate.
  • 15.9 MPa aluminum lap shear: Typical aluminum lap-shear strength is 15.9 MPa to ASTM D1002.

Applications

Structural bonding of electronic assemblies; primerless bonding of supported metals; bonding engineered thermoplastics and composites.

Elongation
Elongation is the process of lengthening something. It is a percentage that measures the initial, unstressed, length compared to the length of the material right before it breaks. It is commonly referred to as Ultimate Elongation or Tensile Elongation at break.
