PLEXUS MA1025

Main features

  • 20-25 Minute Work, 40-45 Minute Fixture
  • 2-25 mm Structural Gap Filling
  • 90-110% Cured Strain

Product Description

Plexus MA1025 is a two-part 10:1 methacrylate structural adhesive with low cure shrinkage and low odor for thermoplastic, metal and composite assemblies. At 23 deg C, working time is 20-25 minutes and fixture time is 40-45 minutes. The non-sagging adhesive fills bond gaps from 2 to 25 mm and requires little surface preparation for supported substrates. After cure, typical tensile strength is 9.7-12.4 MPa, tensile modulus is 414-552 MPa and strain to failure is 90-110%. Typical lap-shear cohesive strength is 8.3-13.8 MPa to ASTM D1002.

Key features

  • 20-25 minute working time: Working time is 20-25 minutes at 23 deg C, with fixture time in 40-45 minutes.
  • 2-25 mm gap filling: The non-sagging 10:1 adhesive is specified for bond gaps from 2 to 25 mm.
  • 90-110% strain to failure: Typical cured strain to failure is 90-110%, with tensile strength of 9.7-12.4 MPa.

Applications

Structural bonding of thermoplastics, metals and composites; bonding stringers and liners in fiberglass boats; other supported marine structural assemblies.

Elongation
Elongation is the process of lengthening something. It is a percentage that measures the initial, unstressed, length compared to the length of the material right before it breaks. It is commonly referred to as Ultimate Elongation or Tensile Elongation at break.
