PERMABOND TA440
Harmonization Code : 3910.00.00.90 | Silicones in Primary Forms; Others
Main features
- Rapid 1:1 Structural Acrylic Bonding
- 15-30 Second Fixture on Zinc
- High Shear, Peel and Impact Strength
Product Description
Permabond TA440 is a two-component 1:1 structural acrylic adhesive for metals, glass, wood, ferrites, ceramics and selected rigid plastics. TA440A and TA440B can be applied to opposing surfaces or dispensed bead-on-bead so the two components combine during assembly. On zinc at 23 deg C, typical fixture time is 15-30 seconds and handling strength is reached in 60-90 seconds. After cure, typical mild-steel lap-shear strength is 15-25 N/mm2. Typical peel strength is 45-65 N/25 mm to ISO 4578, while impact strength is 10-15 kJ/m2 to ASTM D-950.
Key features
- 1:1 bead-on-bead or opposing-surface application: TA440A and TA440B are used at a 1:1 ratio and can combine as the parts are assembled.
- 15-30 second fixture on zinc: Typical fixture time is 15-30 seconds at 23 deg C, with handling strength in 60-90 seconds.
- Cured peel and impact resistance: Typical peel strength is 45-65 N/25 mm to ISO 4578 and impact strength is 10-15 kJ/m2 to ASTM D-950.
Applications
Structural bonding of metals, glass, wood, ferrites and ceramics; bonding selected rigid plastics.
