PERMABOND 802

Main features

  • High-Temperature Bonding Performance
  • Low-Viscosity 0.15 mm Gap Bonding
  • Fast 10-15 Second Fixture

Product Description

PERMABOND 802 is a low-viscosity modified ethyl cyanoacrylate adhesive for fast bonding where high-temperature resistance is required. Typical viscosity is 90 to 110 mPa s at 25 deg C and the maximum gap fill is 0.15 mm, giving more gap capability than an ultra-thin instant adhesive while retaining rapid cure. Steel, Buna N rubber, and phenolic typically reach fixture strength in 10 to 15 seconds, and full strength develops in 24 hours. The grade bonds rubber, metals, and plastics and provides typical steel shear strength of 19 to 23 N/mm^2 after cure.

Key features

  • High-Temperature Bonding Grade: The modified cyanoacrylate is formulated for applications requiring high-temperature resistance.
  • 0.15 mm Gap Capability: Typical viscosity of 90 to 110 mPa s supports a maximum gap of 0.15 mm.
  • 10-15 Second Fixture: Steel, Buna N rubber, and phenolic typically reach fixture strength in 10 to 15 seconds.

Applications

Bonding rubber, metals, and plastics in elevated-temperature service.

Specific Gravity
Specific gravity (SG) is the ratio of the density of a substance to the density of a reference substance; equivalently, it is the ratio of the mass of a substance to the mass of a reference substance for the same given volume. For liquids, the reference substance is almost always water (1), while for gases, it is air (1.18) at room temperature. Specific gravity is unitless.

Physical Properties
Viscosity
Viscosity is a measurement of a fluid’s resistance to flow. Viscosity is commonly measured in centiPoise (cP). One cP is defined as the viscosity of water and all other viscosities are derived from this base. MPa is another common unit with a 1:1 conversion to cP. A product like honey would have a much higher viscosity -around 10,000 cPs- compared to water. As a result, honey would flow much slower out of a tipped glass than water would. The viscosity of a material can be decreased with an increase in temperature in order to better suit an application
