MOLYKOTE L-0268
Harmonization Code : 3208.20.90 | Paints and varnishes that are dispersed or dissolved in a non aqueous medium
Main features
- Corrosion-Inhibited Process-Gas Lubrication
- ISO 68 Compressor-Oil Selection
- Controlled Oxygen-Service Boundary
Product Description
MOLYKOTE L-0268 Process Gas Oil is an ISO 68 mineral process-gas oil with a corrosion-inhibitor package for compressors and vacuum pumps handling corrosive gases such as hydrogen chloride or methyl chloride. Because the oil is not formulated with antioxidants, total oxygen must not exceed 2% of the gas stream. Typical properties of this grade include 68 cSt kinematic viscosity at 40 deg C, 9 cSt at 100 deg C and a viscosity index of 102. Flash point and pour point are test properties rather than continuous operating limits.
Key features
- Corrosion-inhibited process-gas lubrication: Supports compressors and vacuum pumps handling the specified corrosive gas environments.
- ISO 68 mineral-oil viscosity: Provides an exact ISO 68 grade with 68 cSt typical kinematic viscosity at 40 deg C.
- Gas-stream oxygen limit: Requires total oxygen of no more than 2% of the gas stream within the specified process-gas applications.
Applications
Applications include compressors and vacuum pumps handling corrosive gases such as hydrogen chloride or methyl chloride within the specified oxygen limit.
