Harmonization Code : 3907.30.00.40 | Epoxy Mold Compounds containing by weight more than 70 % silicon dioxide

LORD 7545-B

Main features

  • 3 to 5 Minute A/B Work Time
  • 30-Minute A/B Handling Strength
  • Non-Sag A/B Vertical Placement

Product Description

LORD 7545-B Curative is the Part 2 curative for LORD 7545-A/B equal-mix urethane adhesive systems. The off-white or black paste has a typical Brookfield viscosity of 230,000 to 650,000 cP at 77 deg F (25 deg C) and mixes with LORD 7545-A resin at 1:1 by volume or 1:0.87 by weight. The A/B configuration provides a typical working time of 3 to 5 minutes and reaches handling strength in 30 minutes at 75 deg F (24 deg C). It can be applied through handheld cartridges or automatic meter/mix/dispense equipment as part of a non-sag system for vertical or overhead placement. LORD 7545-B is a curative component, not a standalone adhesive.

Key features

  • Fast A/B working window: Provides 3 to 5 minutes of typical working time at 75 deg F (24 deg C) when mixed with LORD 7545-A.
  • Thirty-minute handling strength: The LORD 7545-A/B configuration reaches handling strength in 30 minutes at 75 deg F (24 deg C).
  • Non-sag system placement: The mixed 7545 system remains in position on vertical or overhead surfaces.

Physical Properties
Viscosity
Viscosity is a measurement of a fluid’s resistance to flow. Viscosity is commonly measured in centiPoise (cP). One cP is defined as the viscosity of water and all other viscosities are derived from this base. MPa is another common unit with a 1:1 conversion to cP. A product like honey would have a much higher viscosity -around 10,000 cPs- compared to water. As a result, honey would flow much slower out of a tipped glass than water would. The viscosity of a material can be decreased with an increase in temperature in order to better suit an application
230000-650000 mPa.s
Thermal Properties
Flash Point
The flashpoint of a solvent is the lowest possible temperature at which it can vaporize to form an ignitable vapor. Flashpoint is often confused with “autoignition temperature”, which is the temperature at which a solvent ignites without an ignition source.
93 °C
Glass Transition Temperature (Tg)
The glass transition temperature for organic adhesives is a temperature region where the polymers change from glassy and brittle to soft and rubbery. Increasing the temperature further continues the softening process as the viscosity drops too. Temperatures between the glass transition temperature and below the decomposition point of the adhesive are the best region for bonding. The glass-transition temperature Tg of a material characterizes the range of temperatures over which this glass transition occurs.
47 °C
Mechanical Properties
Elongation
Elongation is the process of lengthening something. It is a percentage that measures the initial, unstressed, length compared to the length of the material right before it breaks. It is commonly referred to as Ultimate Elongation or Tensile Elongation at break.
