LOCTITE EA E-40FL

Main features

  • Flexible Dissimilar-Material Bonding
  • 40-Minute Working Window
  • Shock- and Impact-Resistant Bondline

Product Description

LOCTITE EA E-40FL is a two-part, toughened epoxy structural adhesive that cures to a flexible bondline and has a typical 40-minute working life. After a 1:1 volume mix, the adhesive cures at room temperature and is formulated for low-stress, high-impact bonding where flexibility is required. It bonds plastics, metals, glass, wood, ceramics, rubber, and masonry. The cured adhesive also provides electrical insulation and resistance to shock, impact, chemicals, and solvents. Larger mixed quantities and higher temperatures reduce the working time.

Key features

  • Flexible bondline: Typical elongation is 22% under ISO 527-2 for material cured at 25 deg C.
  • Assembly Working Life: Typical working life of the mixed adhesive is 40 minutes.
  • Shock and impact resistance: Toughened epoxy for low-stress bonding of dissimilar materials, including rubber hose to steel tubing.

Applications

Applications include bonding plastics, metals, glass, wood, ceramics, rubber, and masonry where a flexible bondline is required.
