LOCTITE 536
Harmonization Code : 2901.10.00.00 | Acyclic hydrocarbons; Saturated
Main features
- Low-Torque Thread Disassembly
- Anti-Galling Metal Thread Lubricity
- Immediate Moderate-Pressure Sealing
Product Description
LOCTITE 536 is a one-part, off-white dimethacrylate ester paste for sealing tapered metal pipe threads and fittings. The high-viscosity anaerobic compound cures when confined between close-fitting metal surfaces and provides lubricity during assembly. It is formulated for low breakaway torque, allowing disassembly with standard hand tools even after continuous heat exposure. Properly tightened fittings seal immediately to moderate pressures, while maximum pressure and solvent resistance develop after at least 24 hours of cure. The sealant is intended for metal threads and is not recommended for plastic piping.
Key features
- Low breakaway torque: Supports disassembly of cured metal fittings with standard hand tools.
- Anti-galling lubricity: High lubricity prevents galling on stainless steel, aluminum, and other metal pipe threads.
- Immediate moderate-pressure seal: Properly tightened fittings seal immediately to moderate pressures after assembly.
Applications
Applications include sealing tapered metal pipe threads and fittings.
