EPOCAST 1626

Main features

  • 0.65 g/cc Mixed Density
  • 60-Minute Gel Time
  • Honeycomb Filling and Potting

Product Description

EPOCAST 1626 A/B is a two-part epoxy syntactic compound for core filling, edge sealing, and bushing or fastener potting in honeycomb structures. Its brown Part A resin and off-white Part B hardener mix at 100:29 by weight to form a brown, low-flow paste with typical density of 0.65 g/cc. For a 50 g mass at 25 deg C, typical gel time is 60 minutes. The toughened system is designed to resist cracking in applications exposed to vibration and broad temperature cycling. BMS 5-28, Type 26 qualification applies to the system; typical cured properties include lap shear, peel, impact, hardness, tensile strength, and elongation.

Key features

  • Crack-Resistant Toughened Syntactic: The system is designed to resist cracking under vibration and broad temperature cycling.
  • 0.65 g/cc Mixed Density: Part A and Part B combine at 100:29 by weight to form a brown, low-flow paste.
  • 60-Minute Gel Time: This typical value applies to a 50 g mass at 25 deg C.

Applications

Honeycomb core filling; edge sealing; bushing and fastener potting; aerospace composite structures.
