DOWSIL EA-3001

Main features

  • Fast Room-Temperature Cure
  • Very Low Viscosity
  • Controlled Silicone Volatility

Product Description

DOWSIL™ EA-3001 White is a one-part, moisture-cure RTV silicone adhesive designed for electronic assembly applications. This solventless adhesive combines very low viscosity with fast tack-free room-temperature cure, supporting efficient dispensing and processing. The material features controlled silicone volatility and improved resistance against sulfur corrosion, making it suitable for environments where component reliability is important. DOWSIL™ EA-3001 White is intended for LCD assembly and PCB protection and cures at room temperature in the presence of atmospheric moisture.

Key features

  • Fast room-temperature cure: Develops a tack-free surface without requiring curing ovens, supporting streamlined manufacturing processes.
  • Very low viscosity: Typical viscosity of 1,270 cP (1.27 Pa·s) enables easy dispensing and material flow during application.
  • Controlled silicone volatility: Silicone volatiles (D4-D10) below 400 ppm help address volatility-sensitive electronic applications.

Applications / Suitable for

  • LCD assembly
  • PCB protection
  • Electronic device assembly

Physical Properties
Viscosity
Viscosity is a measurement of a fluid’s resistance to flow. Viscosity is commonly measured in centiPoise (cP). One cP is defined as the viscosity of water and all other viscosities are derived from this base. MPa is another common unit with a 1:1 conversion to cP. A product like honey would have a much higher viscosity -around 10,000 cPs- compared to water. As a result, honey would flow much slower out of a tipped glass than water would. The viscosity of a material can be decreased with an increase in temperature in order to better suit an application

Mechanical Properties
Elongation
Elongation is the process of lengthening something. It is a percentage that measures the initial, unstressed, length compared to the length of the material right before it breaks. It is commonly referred to as Ultimate Elongation or Tensile Elongation at break.
