BOSTIK STR-350A

Main features

  • Fast 15-Minute Skin Formation
  • High-Elongation Elastic Joint
  • Excellent UV Resistance

Product Description

Bostik STR350A combines adhesive and sealant functions in a one-component silyl modified polymer (SMP) material for elastic constructive joints and sealing. It forms a skin in 15 minutes and has a 20-minute open time at 20 deg C and 50% RH, with approximately 2 mm cure development after 24 hours under the same conditions. The cured material reaches Shore A 50 and 400% elongation at break, while UV resistance is rated Excellent. STR350A is developed for bonding and sealing in bus, caravan, and trailer construction, including general bonding and panel assembly.

Key features

  • 15-Minute Skin Formation: Skin forming time is 15 minutes at 20 deg C and 50% RH.
  • High-Elongation Elastic Joint: Cured elongation at break is 400%, supporting the product's elastic joint role.
  • Excellent UV Resistance: Cured UV resistance is rated Excellent.

Applications

Transportation joint bonding and sealing, including bus, caravan, trailer, general bonding, and panel assembly.

Technical Specifications

General Properties
Specific Gravity
Specific gravity (SG) is the ratio of the density of a substance to the density of a reference substance; equivalently, it is the ratio of the mass of a substance to the mass of a reference substance for the same given volume. For liquids, the reference substance is almost always water (1), while for gases, it is air (1.18) at room temperature. Specific gravity is unitless.

Mechanical Properties
Elongation
Elongation is the process of lengthening something. It is a percentage that measures the initial, unstressed, length compared to the length of the material right before it breaks. It is commonly referred to as Ultimate Elongation or Tensile Elongation at break.

Thermal Properties
Temperature Resistance
Temperature resistance is the maximum temperature that the material or product can withstand for a period of time. The temperatures listed should be considered as guidelines for an operating temperature of about 30 minutes. Typically, the material can withstand much longer times at temperatures about 20°C lower and can withstand much higher temperatures for short, intermittent times.
